The Department of Public Health in the College of Health Sciences at Arcadia University invites applications for a nine-month tenure track Assistant Professor in Public Health, beginning August 2019. Programs offered within the Department include a BSPH with a concentration in Global Health, an undergraduate minor in Global Public Health, MPH in Community Health, and MPH dual degrees with the Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, International Peace and Conflict Resolution, and Counseling programs. All programs are accredited by CEPH. We are seeking a candidate who is committed to balancing teaching with research and service at the university and professional levels. Arcadia's College of Health Sciences (CHS) houses the University's Community and Global Public Health, Genetic Counseling, Medical Science (Physician Assistant Studies), and Physical Therapy programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in community health, advising graduate students, supervising capstone projects, conducting independent and collaborative research, participating in regional as well as national public health meetings and presenting and publishing in appropriate outlets.
The candidate will have a doctorate degree in a public health discipline and some teaching experience on the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
A focused research agenda and scholarly publications appropriate to career level are required.
Training and/or research in one of the following three areas would best compliment our Department: Community-based research and programming/community advocacy in public health, Health communication OR in biostatistics.
The candidate should have a working knowledge of accreditation processes related to CEPH accreditation and should have experience in designing curricular assessments.
